December Glass Workshops, Open House, and Sale
Salem Community College welcomes the public to the Samuel H. Jones Glass Education Center on Sunday, December 11th for an afternoon of glass.
The SCC's Glass Club's December sale will feature handmade glass including ornaments, flowers, jewelry, vases and paperweights from noon to 4 p.m. Admission to the Glass Education Center and the sale is free. While visiting the center, guests may check out SCC's incredible glass studio and see glassmaking in action!
Also on December 11th, the glass center will be running several hands on workshops. No glass experience is necessary, but please note minimum age requirements. Additional workshop information is listed below.

Hands on Glass Experiences!
Available Workshops:
Fused Glass Ornament*, 1.5 hour session from 12:30pm-2:00pm, or 2:30pm-4:00pm, $40.00 per person- Participants will create their own beautiful fused glass ornament to display on their tree or in a window by layering pieces of flat glass and enamels and heating them in a kiln. Ages 4 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Flameworked Icicles, 3 hour session from 1pm-4pm, $60.00 per person- Attendees use heat, gravity and simple tools to create glass icicles that can be transformed into pendants and ornaments. Ages 10 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Blown Glass Ornament*, 1.5 hour sessions between 12:00pm-1:30pm, or 2:30pm-4pm, $60.00- Participants will create a beautiful blown glass ornament from the furnace in our glassblowing studio! Ages 14 and up. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
(*Due to the process, items will need to be picked up at a later date, or can be shipped for an additional fee.)
